Kailey Everett, MSW, LICSW, (She/her/hers)

Specialty: Navigating/facing fear and adversity, finding inspiration, exploring the unconscious mind, utilizing dreamwork as a therapeutic intervention, addiction & recovery,building self-confidence and self-sustainability, relationshipissues, religious trauma, and anger/rage.

As your therapist, I see myself as a guide and my approach is very much strength-based and person-centered - aligned withCarl Rogers, who believed that “every person is unique and, therefore, everyone’s view of their own world, and their ability to manage it, should be trusted”. I lead with curiosity and see you, the client as expert of your life and experience. My approach is designed to validate your experience and help youreveal your inner strength and gain awareness so that you can finally heal and recover from traumas that are keeping you stuck. These interventions are the catalyst to growth and hold transformative power. Once you can recognize the patterns that keep you stuck and interfere with your life, we can work to change them and break out of the toxic cycle that you have been a prisoner of because of past traumas (both conscious and unconscious). Your pain will be transformed, and you will gain a new level of insight and awareness that will provide you with the traction you need to find freedom, peace, and live a fulfilling life.

In her free time Kailey enjoys creating (through painting, drawing, cooking, and music). She is also an amateur Thai Boxer and has overcome fear and anxiety both inside and outside the boxing ring. She feels most at peace when outdoors or spending time with her three cats – Skittles, Bubbles, and Blizzard.

Education: Kailey graduated from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities in 2018 with a Master’s Degree in Social Workconcentrating on Clinical Mental Health and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW). Kailey holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Deviance and a Minor in Psychology, graduating in 2012 from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. In addition, in 2022 Kailey completed Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training through The Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society & Institute - “the curriculum guides candidates in helping patients disentangle from painful patterns of living to pursue their own transformative potential and to live loving, productive and vital lives”. Kailey is an active member of The Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society and continues to further her education by attending seminars and regularly consults with other psychotherapists in order to develop the most effective and transformational therapeutic interventions to utilize in her workwith clients.
